My belief as a childcare provider is to provide all children in my care, a clean, safe, stimulating and loving home-like environment, where they can play and learn. I believe in and value a semi-structured day. Activities will include, Calendar along with morning circle, music and movement to enhance gross motor skills, language, daily creative`s, outdoor play weather permitting, free play, and many more cognitive activities to keep your child engaged. Although I am new to Brooklin, I am not new to the childcare profession. I have been an Early Childhood Educator since 2002 where I graduated with Honors from Seneca College, I continued my post secondary education at York University where I completed a B.A in Psychology. I have had experience working with Infants to School Age children. For the past few years I have been a Preschool teacher with a reputable government funded daycare in Toronto which I love very much. However, I felt as I decided to start my family, I wanted to give my children the best opportunity and wanted to leave the big city and make the move to a more family orientated community. That is where the move to Brooklin comes in to place. Both my husband and I thought this would be the best place to raise our family. The result of the move means I can no longer commute to the big city. I am CPR and First aid trained, which I renew every year. I have an updated criminal reference check as does my Husband who works with the Toronto Police. I am currently registered with the college of Early Childhood Educators and absolutely love what I do.
REASON FOR STARTING A HOME DAYCARE
I l have one son who was born December 18th, 2009 and like many other parents out there he has become my life. When I was thinking of returning to work I looked high and low for good quality day care providers, the search yielded very few reputable providers! The lack of good quality care is a big concern for me, thus making my decision to start my own home care easier! Leaving your children in the hands of someone else is one of the hardest things a parent will have to do! There are so many ‘what ifs’ a parent will have to face during the process. With the increase in poorly managed child care centres and unqualified day care providers the process sometimes becomes a negative one causing unneeded extra stress on the parent and child. I promise to the parents and the children in my care to provide the best environment possible to meet the needs of each family and care for the children the way I would want my own Son to be cared for!
Opening in Brooklin, On. January 2011
